Virtastic Show - [Diablo II Overview]

Diablo II

Action RPG (early alpha), in your browser

Released

Play Diablo II in your browser. The Diablo II: Lord of Destruction 1.13c engine, reimplemented in C++20 and compiled to WebAssembly, by Virtastic. Play now at diablo2.virtastic.app · Source on GitHub

D2-Web is an early alpha. Act 1 is playable: create a character of any of the seven classes, then play through the Rogue Encampment and the first wilderness areas with combat, skills, drops, vendors, waypoints and the stash.

Playing

Open diablo2.virtastic.app in desktop Chrome or Chromium and drag in the MPQ files from your own copy of Diablo II and Lord of Destruction. D2-Web identifies each archive by its contents and reads it in place: nothing is uploaded. Characters save in your browser and autosave when you close the tab.

Quality of life

Widescreen, controller and touch input, a PlugY-style shared stash, monster life bars, chat macros and screenshots are built in, and all of them are off unless you turn them on.

  • Act 1 playable today, all seven classes
  • Widescreen, shared stash, controller and touch, all optional
  • Bring your own game files; they never leave your machine
